The Chaillot Hill, with it's superb position overlooking the Seine,

was the site chosen by Napoleon for "the biggest and most

extraordinary" palace that was built for his son - but by the time

of his downfall only a few ramparts had been completed. Today

the Palais de Chaillot with it's two massive curved wings stand on
