The Chaillot Hill, with it's superb position overlooking the Seine,
was the site chosen by Napoleon for "the biggest and most
extraordinary" palace that was built for his son - but by the time
of his downfall only a few ramparts had been completed. Today
the Palais de Chaillot with it's two massive curved wings stand on
the site. Just click here to take another French city tour.
